Trailer Timeline

A few weeks ago, I had mentioned that Misima's first teaser trailer would drop on Thursday, October 10, 2019. If you're reading this, then you've probably caught on that no teaser has been published yet. And this is a behind the scenes update or confession, depending on how you want to see it.

I began editing the trailer in March. When I had time in-between my other duties, I would work on it. A little editing here and there, until it was crafted. The trailer was finished a month later in April. I even screened it for the undergraduate anthropology students at Brigham Young University, and a few talented peers from my creative circle. The feedback was enthusiastic, and I was encouraged to get it out to all of you. It was just a matter of deciding when to release it.

So on the eve of October 10, as I was reviewing it one last time before uploading it to the website, I was struck with some inspiration. The ideas that came to mind were compelling enough that I decided to stop everything and explore them, crafting another edit of the trailer.

Additionally, since all my deadlines are self-imposed, I took myself aside and renegotiated another release date. You should have heard it! The director was demanding more time so that his vision wouldn't be compromised, while the producer was adamant about adhering to the schedule. It turns out. The director got his way—this time.

The Misima teaser trailer will now be released on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. And the above screenshots of the editing timeline will give you an idea of the changes made between the previous and new versions of the trailer.
